The Northumberland Orchestra, also known as the Northumberland Orchestral Society (NOS), is based in Newcastle upon Tyne.  Founded in 1877, it is one of the oldest amateur orchestras in England.

We are a lively society of musicians from all backgrounds and walks of life with one thing in common – we love to rehearse and perform a wide variety of orchestral music. We rehearse weekly during term time at Jesmond United Reformed Church in Newcastle, and usually give three concerts a year.

SUPPORT US

Become a patron

The Northumberland Orchestra is a community of musicians who share a love of performing and keeping orchestral music alive in our region. As a small, local orchestra, we rely on the support of friends, audiences, and patrons to help cover the costs of rehearsals, venues, and concerts.
By becoming a Patron, you’ll be directly supporting our work and helping us continue to bring live music to Northumberland. Even modest contributions make a real difference, and in return we’ll keep you closely connected with the orchestra through updates, acknowledgements, and invitations to occasional supporter events.
